Background

Regional Geology Showing Project Location

The Phillips Find Project is located 45km NNW of Coolgardie and 25km NW of the Kundana Gold Mining Centre, WA. Barra holds 34 contiguous tenements covering 10km of highly prospective stratigraphy which hosts the Phillips Find Mining Centre which has produced approximately 28,400oz of gold. In addition the area is host to numerous exploration targets defined by auger geochemical anomalism, RAB drilling, and in many cases RC drilling. Metal detecting over the past 25 years has yielded significant alluvial gold.

The underpinning feature of the project which cannot be emphasized too strongly is the excellent regional structural setting. The intersection of several major NW-SE structural corridors with NE-SW cross-cutting structures is the focus for concentrations of gold. Each time this premise has been tested success has resulted, giving confidence to persist with exploration at, and adjacent to these structural intersections.

The Phillips Find Mining Centre covers a number of controlling structures of differing orientations. The mining of three small near surface deposits; Bacchus Gift, Newhaven (from 25m to 50m depth) and Newminster has produced approximately 28,400oz @ 4+ g/t Au. This demonstrates the excellent gold endowment of the area. Potential is high for the development of a major gold deposit at the convergence and/or intersection of these structures at depth.
